catalog time

Finally had some time tonight to sit down and flip through the pages of the Crate and Barrel and CB2 catalogs that have been sitting on my dining room table for a few weeks.  Got a lot of ideas ---- hopefully can put them to use soon!  I do always love this abacus wall art.......thinking of creating my own for my office wall to match the color theme.

Just spent the last 45 minutes flipping through the pages of Restoration Hardware's The Spring 2011 Source Book.......Can I please win the lottery so I can just order everything? That won't happen (mainly because I don't even play!), so here are just a few of my favorites:

Haven't been yet, but looking forward to checking it out.  Wish I had know about this when we were ripping out all of our kitchen cabinets!!!!

office organization/re-design (before and after)

A lot of us have these random rooms in out home.  You start off with a vision and it ends up being the dumping grounds for stuff you aren't quite sure what to do with or the hiding spot for stuff when guests come over.  The rest of this darling apartment is completly furnished and decorated.  This "office" is the one room in the house that really needed some help!

I focused on cleaning out a lot of unneeded things and turning the room into an office that she enjoyed being in.  There is still work to be done on the space but she is well on her way to making the space more organized and efficient.

ikea and black and blue fingers

3 things I need to remember about Ikea.....(1) I cannot just "run in" to get something (2) the boxes are always heavier than I think or remember (3) the great price of Ikea is off set by the fact that my fingers were black and blue after using an allen wrench for a few hours.

They do have some great stuff, but you do have to be willing to do the whole self serve thing....writing down the aisle and bin number, getting it off the shelf, maneuvering their "sliding" carts through the checkout lines and the parking lot, loading up your car (hoping that everything fits!!!) and then somehow managing to get it into your house........and then you can sit down and begin the adventure of putting it together.  I must admit the directions are very easy to follow and generally come with all the tools you need. 

todd farm flea market & sowa open studios

Can't wait for Todd Farm Flea Market in Rowley, MA to open on Sunday, April 10, 2011.  My husband and I went this weekend to check out the barn they have stuffed with great finds.  Didn't buy anything this time.....no room in the condo with the installation of the flooring coming up this weekend!

Also excited for SOWA Open Studios to happen again in September 2011.

Sometimes I just love to wander around the Christmas Tree Shops, you never really know what you are going to find. 

This is a plant stand, but thought it would make an interesting side table with a round cut piece of glass. Small stands were just 4.99 and the taller ones were 6.99!!!!
